The Woodland Wonga Show

Intro.

It’s game show time in the forest and the woodland creatures are all competing for the big money prize!

But our host, Fenton Fox, wants to win all the goodies for himself. Can our contestants use their understanding of money to outwit the crafty host...?

Challenge.

HSBC wanted to encourage more 6-9 year olds (and their parents) to open a savings account. We were asked to help them create a short film about the value of money which would captivate and educate their young audience.

Solution.

Kids are all about characters, so to spark their interest and hold onto it for 8 minutes, we created some hilarious woodland characters that they could identify with.

Enter our cheesy and manipulative host, Fenton Fox the Fourth; know-it-all instagram influencer Samantha Squirrel; wannabe rock star Rocky Rabbit; and our small but smart hero, Tot the Mouse.

Our 2d animated contestants go head to head in four action packed rounds all about saving money. We designed all the detail-rich environments and worked with voiceover artists Claire Morgan and Marc Silk to bring the show to life.

Impact.

HSBC’s animation achieved impressive results, not just in engagement but in new kids’ savings accounts being opened by parents. The bank have since asked us to evolve the film into a national in-store interactive AR experience and create another film for an older audience, which you can check out here.
